  • What do you mean by "cleaner" beauty?

    "Cleaner" encompasses many things for us. It includes the services we choose to provide and, even more importantly, what products we put on our hair, nails + skin. But always without sacrificing effectiveness, because if it doesn't perform, it's a waste of your time and money. We want to help you invest in yourself and your self-care to make healthier choices in this age of excessive consumerism and chemical use.

  • Tell me more about your products that are “cleaner”?

    We believe product choices speak volumes. We prioritize using and promoting products that are cleaner alternatives to the well-known ones commonly used in the industry. On top of partnering with Kevin Murphy for hair care and hair color and Dazzle Dry for nails, instead of endless products for sale, we offer a highly curated selection of superstars because of their ingredients (including what they do NOT contain), application, and effectiveness. 


    We focus on promoting products from upstart brands that take an educated and mindful approach to personal care product ingredients. Many of the brands we offer create products that are multi-functional/multi-purpose, unisex, and/or in travel-friendly formats to help streamline your consumption and regimen. An added bonus is that the businesses behind these brands often engage in social good/give-back initiatives, which makes our financial support of them even better. PSA: When you see synthetic "fragrance" and "parfum" by U.S. companies, this means there is the potential for a cocktail of undisclosed chemicals to be used (ick!!), unlike in the European Union, which better regulates this. 


  • What other ways are you supporting "cleaner" beauty?

    We are conscious of how we deliver services to do so in a more responsible way for the environment. We recycle where we can and take part in the Green Circle PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Recovery Initiative to help reduce the environmental impact of sanitary requirements in place to make sure that our PPE is responsibly disposed of. Green Circle works with its partners to safely process our PPE waste, which will be used to create clean renewable energy that powers homes and businesses. The leftover ash from this process can be used as filler in asphalt and various construction items, like brick.


    We support the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, which was founded by Breast Cancer Prevention Partners, and are mindful of their work and guidance when selecting products.


    Finally, we make an effort to purchase more eco-friendly (e.g., biodegradable, lighter carbon footprint, and/or recycled/recyclable) supplies when feasible.

  • What’s so great about Kevin Murphy hair products?

    Um, what isn’t? We chose to partner with Kevin Murphy as our hair line - the brand known as Skin Care For Your Hair and Healthy Hair Care With A Conscience. We love that Kevin Murphy is Five-Free - they say no to the five most controversial ingredients that are commonly used in hair care (Sulfates, Harsh Surfactants, Parabens, Phthalates, and DEA). Other great things:

    • Their color line is PPD-free; 
    • They are cruelty-free;
    • Their natural ingredients are ethically sourced - i.e., from sustainable and renewable sources that are harvested in a way that does not harm the environment; and
    • They use packaging that is recyclable or biodegradable whenever possible.
  • Why do you use Dyson hair dryers?

    We love Dyson! We use their hair dryers (and also the Dyson Airwrap and Dyson straightener). Extreme temperatures can make small pores appear within the hair strands, which scatter light in all directions, decreasing shine. Dyson products are engineered with intelligent heat control, to regulate temperatures, prevent extreme heat damage, and help protect shine.

  • How are your nail services “cleaner”?

    • We only provide “natural” nail services (no gels, acrylics, or dips). 
    • Our nails services are “dry” (see below).
    • All instruments used are either single-use or sanitized via autoclave, which we think is the best way to sanitize.
  • Why should I go “dry” and choose your waterless nail services?

    Because it is the most sanitary way to perform nail services as there is no cross-contamination from other clients. Additionally, there are less harsh chemicals contacting your skin (think chemicals used in your pedicure tub – your skin is your largest organ and is porous). There is also less likelihood of the skin and nails becoming pliable or sensitive and polish has longer staying power because polish is applied to a nail bed that is not expanded after soaking. 

  • What’s so great about Dazzle Dry nail products?

    Anyone who has tried it will rave about it. Known as a revolutionary lacquer system that is environmentally sound and promotes healthy nails, Dazzle Dry performs like a gel, but is applied and removed like a “traditional” polish with a 4-step system that delivers advanced performance (our clients tell us 2 weeks chip-free!) without using the harshest chemicals (8-Free) and dries in 5 minutes without any fan or harmful UV or LED lamps. Dazzle Dry is also cruelty-free and vegan!

  • You’re a breath of fresh air, but what’s your actual air situation inside?

    Our central air system has a UV filter and a fresh air intake/out-take component for improved ventilation and air quality that is superior to traditional recirculated air. There are only 4 stations to minimize the total number of people inside at any time during normal operations.

  • Do you take requests for special hours or to host private events?

  • What’s your cancellation policy?

    We have a 24-hour cancellation policy to ensure that our team is treated professionally and has the opportunity to rebook the opening. Here are more specifics:

    • You may cancel or reschedule your appointment more than 24 hours prior to your scheduled service start time with no penalty.
    • As a professional courtesy to our team, if the canceling and/or rescheduling of your appointment is within 24 hours of your scheduled service start time, you will be charged for the full scheduled service amount (excluding gratuity).
  • What if I’m running late (or I’m a no-show)?

    Running late happens to all of us. However, as a courtesy to other clients who need and value their appointments starting on time, if you are running late, appointments will be held for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, Hustlestop reserves the right to treat you as a no-show, cancel your appointment, and charge you for the full scheduled service amount (excluding gratuity).
